Miik Green/Brad Ladyman have been awarded the commission to produce new sculptural works for Esperance Residential College install 2010.

80′s stoner surf imagery and Chemical brothers were key inspiration for these works, we extracted the lines from the college murals and a soundwave and aim to insert them into the landscape in the form of an aluminium structure.

 Coolbinia – new sculptural work

(see image above) Due to be installed late 2011, the concept is about emergence and growth, and consists of two huge leaves of stainless steel that form a gateway. The school – Coolbinia Primary in Western Australia will house the work in the main quadrangle after building works are completed. The brief was simple – the work needed to be interactive, exciting and inspiring, and align with the school’s philosophy of maintaining our environment responsibly.

Concept below.

One of three teams selected statewide to propose new work for the new music auditorium. Remodelled in 3D, the building is highlighted by the work – prefab aluminium tubes that morph from organic elements to a geometric web.
